Vacation and all it entails

So we are so blessed to be able to go on vacation with our family but boy it's a 3 week process.  It takes a full week just to get ready, a week of vacation and a week to unpack and recuperate.  Packing for 4 kids and myself is a challenge.  We have always had it so good with so many hand me downs I never bought clothing for the next stage of any of my kids.  We have a few this year but Kate has had a giant growth spurt recently making clothing difficult to fit on her little body.  We went shopping for shorts, swimsuit and shoes, wow does she already have such a Strong opinion.  I am starting to feel sorry for my mom and all the strong opinions I know I had starting so young.  Please don't hear me complaining I am so blessed to have the time and resources to do this with my family, and besides getting ready is half the fun, right?  OK so this is a side story yesterday we spent the whole day out shopping for loose ends, packed our lunch and everything.  Ben met us halfway through the day for lunch then we continued our shopping, picked up Jack from school and continued to 35 minutes away to buy Jack a pair of shoes I think Ben wanted more than Jack.  Well needless to say we didn't get them after I waited in the car for 25 minutes with Sam who happen to need 2 diaper changes and a sleeping Lucy.  We headed toward home knowing that dinner was expected from everyone in the car but I was in no mood or spirits to cook, it's getting late and were all tired.  We decided to eat at CiCi's pizza, whole family for $16.00 can't beat that!  We sit down we get our food and Ben and I are just enjoying the moments we have all are happy  and eating, Jack runs off to play in their game room and comes back not long after with a pinched bleeding finger, bummer.  You might of thought his whole finger was chopped off according to him.  I go to ask for a band-aid and right as I am getting someones attention Sam starts to throw up I catch it with my super fast mom skills and turn for the bathroom but he had more, a lot more!  I felt pretty bad for the CiCi's pizza clean-up guy and the guests eating that saw it all happen.  We whisked the kids out of the restaurant and settled in at home, boy was that a day.  I still have a sick infant and a cold myself and a vacation to pack for, O boy! In the end I am looking forward to being with my family for a week I have preparing fun treats for the kids in the car and planning how to tell the them the best news that they will ever receive, Christ came and chose to die for them so that they may have a relationship with their true Father in Heaven!!!!  When I think about that all this craziness of life feels like nothing and I become deeply excited about the things that matter.

Wow Maria,
That's awesome...you will miss those crazy stories. I think it's what bonds families together. I will see if I have any more shorts for K. Great running into you guys at the store.
