This is our life and journey. We are only a part of God's larger story. My aim is to document our lives and share what Christ does in it.

Why is that?
As I am reading my bible this morning I realize that I want others to know what I am doing, why is that? I was reading on the iPad and thinking will people know that I am reading my bible? Will they think I am just messing around on the iPad? Why does it matter what others think? I struggle so much lately with doing things so others see and not so that I honor my lord. Maybe I have been doing it all along and now I can just see my sin. It's hard for me I think it can be a fine line in my life of living out my faith so that others can be encouraged and living it so others will praise me. Lord strip the pride out of my life I can see how I make much of myself and not of you. Change me!

Vacation and all it entails
So we are so blessed to be able to go on vacation with our family but boy it's a 3 week process. It takes a full week just to get ready, a week of vacation and a week to unpack and recuperate. Packing for 4 kids and myself is a challenge. We have always had it so good with so many hand me downs I never bought clothing for the next stage of any of my kids. We have a few this year but Kate has had a giant growth spurt recently making clothing difficult to fit on her little body. We went shopping for shorts, swimsuit and shoes, wow does she already have such a Strong opinion. I am starting to feel sorry for my mom and all the strong opinions I know I had starting so young. Please don't hear me complaining I am so blessed to have the time and resources to do this with my family, and besides getting ready is half the fun, right? OK so this is a side story yesterday we spent the whole day out shopping for loose ends, packed our lunch and everything. Ben met us halfway through the day for lunch then we continued our shopping, picked up Jack from school and continued to 35 minutes away to buy Jack a pair of shoes I think Ben wanted more than Jack. Well needless to say we didn't get them after I waited in the car for 25 minutes with Sam who happen to need 2 diaper changes and a sleeping Lucy. We headed toward home knowing that dinner was expected from everyone in the car but I was in no mood or spirits to cook, it's getting late and were all tired. We decided to eat at CiCi's pizza, whole family for $16.00 can't beat that! We sit down we get our food and Ben and I are just enjoying the moments we have all are happy and eating, Jack runs off to play in their game room and comes back not long after with a pinched bleeding finger, bummer. You might of thought his whole finger was chopped off according to him. I go to ask for a band-aid and right as I am getting someones attention Sam starts to throw up I catch it with my super fast mom skills and turn for the bathroom but he had more, a lot more! I felt pretty bad for the CiCi's pizza clean-up guy and the guests eating that saw it all happen. We whisked the kids out of the restaurant and settled in at home, boy was that a day. I still have a sick infant and a cold myself and a vacation to pack for, O boy! In the end I am looking forward to being with my family for a week I have preparing fun treats for the kids in the car and planning how to tell the them the best news that they will ever receive, Christ came and chose to die for them so that they may have a relationship with their true Father in Heaven!!!! When I think about that all this craziness of life feels like nothing and I become deeply excited about the things that matter.

Book worm
Since we have cut TV in the mornings and afternoons of the school week Jack's love for reading has exploded. I was never much of a reader as a child as I get older and want to grow in my faith my love for reading is definitely grown. It makes me so excited that he enjoys it so much! After school Ben took him to the library to check out a new book he got home at 4:30 and read with a few breaks till 10 pm in his bed. Mind you we put him in bed at 7:30 but there was no stopping him he loved it too much. At 10 he came downstairs to inform us he had finished the book!!
| 162 pages way to go buddy! |
| Just a side note when I picked up Sam to put him down for a nap I found this cup stuck on his foot. I know he needs a haircut! |

All the small things
It's been too long I am sad that I have missed writing down all the fun things that my kids say or do. Sometimes I get so discouraged by the fact that I haven't done it that I continue to tell myself what's the point of doing it now. So I am going to just give you the few memories on my mind.
This morning when I woke Kate up for school she made me smile, she sat up matter a fact put her feet on the floor and slide on her bunny slippers for the 30 second walk to my bedroom. When I stopped to notice she clearly had this planned since last night, they were placed oh so neatly by her bed ready for her in the morning.
Lucy likes to dress up and put on her lip gloss often. As she is doing this she walks around saying that she is going to the "ball", well the only kind of ball Lucy knows of is a soccer ball, she will say mom I am going to the soccer ball. I think it's so cute that she doesn't get the difference between the two.
Sam has started to raise his hands in the air when we say "so big", I absolutely love this stage! He is also babbling a lot we'e trying hard for that mama or Dada :)
Jack has really made us proud lately. He often can be so stubborn and argumentative but this last little bit his spirit has been softer. I can see his love for his siblings. Jack so desperately wants us to give him time and love and he definitely responds to it when we stop to take time for him.
On another note Jack has been reading like crazy, about 3 weeks ago we stopped watching TV during the week, this has been the best decision for our family! Jack has been reading so much more, he is reading 1-2, 100-200 page books a week. It's neat to see how that turns into creativity in our home.
Hope to be back with all the small things a whole lot sooner!

"Children Of God"
You'll want to stop the music at the bottom of my page to watch.
I came accross this video and really liked it. I have always liked this song but it adds extra meaning when you relate it to adoption.

My job
I love my job! The more and more I really evaluate my job and all it entails I feel insanely blessed that I have a husband who can't bare the thought of me working out of the home. I have come to appreciate being a mother far more as time goes on, they are young only once! I have hard days often and I get frustrated all the time that there is a lack of respect, discipline and what not in my house. I am slowly starting to view my parenting differently. Ben and I have always been involved in very outward focused ministries and have poured a lot of time and resources into that, kids always seemed second. I am now excited to move forward with the Gospel in hand to love my kids deeply and show them Christ's never ending love. Lord thank you for helping me fulfill this God given role, on days that I feel weak let me live through your strength alone!
